Event Description

Shiona MacPherson writes:

we have finally secured £47k of funding to improve Montpelier Park, and have an enthusiastic Project Manager from the Parks Department working co-operatively with us.

The Council are generating three alternative designs from our brief, which in turn was developed from our community questionnaire and group discussions. We will need to give them feedback on these three designs in the Park on Friday June 26th. We may have the opportunity to see the plans a few days in advance; if so, I will email them out so you have the chance to mull them over before the event.

Please see attached flyer, and feel free to forward to anyone you think may be interested. Your comments will directly influence the final design! All welcome!

Des - If you get sight of the plans prior to the consultation, would you be so kind as to share them on the site? Like many others, I have to be at work when the consultation is on, and it would be great to be able to comment on the designs from afar in my own time.

Susan - sorry you won't be able to come to the meeting. I share your concern about the trees, and I'm sure we can create a great park without cutting any down. Have a great time at Glastonbury!

I am very sorry I won't be able to attend on that date as I am going to Glastonbury and I expect a lot of other people might be too. Will there be further meetings? Please let me know. I have been to other meetings regarding the park where they wanted to cut down large trees and they changed their plans only because a few of us were insistent that they did not do so. Can you please make sure that cutting down the trees is not part of their new plans. Any plan should surely be able to work around the trees. We are so near to the city centre and every tree here should be guarded.

Please do keep me informed and email me the plans. Thanks very much Susan
