Well, its St Andrews, but I reckon he deserves support. Perhaps they are planning to move it to Montpelier? oe-er.

Shouldn't the lamp post be supporting him?

Here's a weird thing - when the lamppost went missing from outside Galliford's I marked it up on fixmystreet.co.uk, saying that I hoped so, since it was a conservation area - got a very apologetic phone call from a Council chap saying that they were very expensive, rare, yada yada.

Then the BEP starts running stories about how Clifton is going to be turned into Victorian Heritage Theme Village with our lampposts and mis-spent tax, man chains himself to lamppost etc.

I wonder, were the Council planning to steal our lamppost? Anyone think it's worth a Freedom of Information request?

Victorian Heritage Theme Village? Is that you using poetic licence?

By rights it should be a Regency Heritage Theme District, but the Council clearly know that technologically-advanced Victorian lampposts would spoil the Regency feel with their futuristic anachronistic look. They're a wily bunch.
