Your first PACT (Partnership and Communities Together) Meeting (don't miss It)
If you want the police to be aware of an issue and take action then you must attend this meeting. Read on to find out more.
The Neighbourhood team is led by a police sergeant and made up of one or more Neighbourhood Beat Managers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) and special constables, who do care! This team is dedicated solely to your area and works closely with council services, local volunteers such as Neighbourhood Watches, and directly with your community to identify the issues that matter most to you, the possible causes, and the best solutions. Each neighbourhood team holds regular Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meetings where local residents and businesses are invited to discuss such issues with a panel of police and partner agency representatives.
Making the communities of Avon and Somerset feel safe and be safe - Safer, Stronger Neighbourhoods - what you need to know
PACT meetings have already made a huge difference to communities throughout Bristol, so I would urge you to take the opportunity to go along and have your say. After all, if people don't speak out about the issues that matter to them, we can not listen or take action.
Your neighbourhood team is dedicated to making your community safer and stronger. Please support them in this by taking the opportunity to speak to them on patrol, or at one-to-one meetings, local events, or a community PACT meeting, or by contacting them through these pages.
The 'In your Area' section of the police website is an excellent way to keep up to date on issues in your neighbourhood, including local news and crime appeals, current statistics, and contact details for your neighbourhood team and Neighbourhood Watch Administrator.
Our first PACT meeting is on 12 May 2008 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm and is being held at the 'Adult Learning Centre' on Grosvenor Road, St Pauls.
This will be held in conjunction with the St Pauls Area, but there will be two separate areas and two separate votes on community issues, as the two areas have different issues. You will be asked to vote on issues that have been raised and the top two issues will be taken forward and progressed and reported back on at the next meeting. This process has been identified by government, as the preferred way to identify the issues which communities have.
