A pretty annoying contributory factor to the problem for pedestrians (esp ones like me of 6ft and taller) is vegetation overgrowing the path. It is really f**king annoying when you can't walk up the path without stooping and ducking around shrubb...

Hi Simon, thanks for the update. Parking is a pain in Montpelier, but even worse is trying to be a pedestrian. I'm glad jay-walking is not a crime in the UK, as most Richmond Road residents have no choice but to jay-walk the road end-to-end. I'd l...

Montpelier –St Werburghs Beat March-April 09

CRIME UPDATE

The good news for February is that Dwelling Burglary was at its lowest point for several years, with only 3 reports for dwellings and 2 reports for shed break-ins. There has been a slight increase for March with 10 reports of dwelling burglary and 2 for shed break-ins, but this is still low.

Robberies have also remained very low with 3 for February and 3 for March with most being committed in the early hours of the morning. The dedicat… Continue

Crime Update Jan 2009

It is with great disappointment that we start the New Year with a small increase in burglary figures for the Montpelier and St Werburghs Beats. Last summer when we finally achieved a 50% reduction on the monthly Burglary figures which continued up to December 2008.

However the figures doubled during the month of December and we believe that two persons known to police were committing the majority of these. The good news is that to date one of these males has been caught and the other is keeping… Continue

Crime update 01st October 2008

It has been a good summer for the Neighbourhood Team and the residents of Montpelier and St werburghs as the crime figures for Beat 111 are a reflection of how crime is reducing across the board. The last two months have been very good seeing the overall crime reduce significantly.

When I became your beat manager back in October 2007 I set out to reduce serious and violent crime including Domestic Burglary and Robbery by at least 50%. The last few months the figures have suggested that we are f… Continue
