Des - If you get sight of the plans prior to the consultation, would you be so kind as to share them on the site? Like many others, I have to be at work when the consultation is on, and it would be great to be able to comment on the designs from afa…

Susan - sorry you won't be able to come to the meeting. I share your concern about the trees, and I'm sure we can create a great park without cutting any down. Have a great time at Glastonbury!

Hello Dan
I've been away for a few days in Norway visiting my cousin.
Yes, it looks really good - especially the Montpelier park sign as the site banner ! I dont fully appreciate yet all the fora and noticeboards the site could potentially enable, but I shall explore ...
Is there some simple way all those 45+ people we have listed on the hotmail MAG group can be 'migrated' here - so we can do group mailings and then ask them to follow link to the site ? (or is this already in place via your 'invitation' to me / others to join the site ?).
For instance, we should post up some info and photos about what we are planning to do for the Clean Up working party on 3 June, and then point people to that page for more info and sign up. We dont seem to have very many people confirming they will do 3 June yet. So the more we can pump it up, the better (I think) !

FoI request on empty commercial properties

I came across a Freedom of Information request asking for the addresses and rateable values of empty commercial premises in Bristol on whatdotheyknow.com: dated 11 May 2009

Evening post take Bristol City Council to task over Montpelier rubbish

The Bristol Evening Post is running a story on the St. Andrews Road dump

http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/homepage/Bristol-City-Council-land-dump/article-786018-detail/article.html

However, they have failed to pick-up on the broader themes of detritus that plague the area:

- Dog fouling
- Ripped-open rubbish bags a permanent feature of the streets
- Wheelie-bins crowding the p… Continue

From Robin via Dan - a MAG update

Hi
It's been a while since you've heard for me or MAG - for various reasons, the main one being the focus on Mont Park over the last year. We are now making progress with our improvement proposals being assessed and costed by the Council, and about £90k has been initially identified as a budget towards works for the Park. If you didn't join the Park mail group a year or so ago, and want to know more about what is going on now, let me know and I will send you a copy of the proposals and put you i… Continue

Just discovered a great tool for quickly informing the relevant authority about a problem in the local area. Go to , type in your postcode, stick a pin in the map, upload a photo if you can, and quickly describe the problem. The data gets fed to the Council. It's great because it allows problems to be tracked and shared by the whole community. Give it a go!
